How to Conserve Water at School
Indoors
Report any leaky toilets, faucets, or drinking fountains
Turn off the sink while soaping up your hands
Do not let the tap run for a long time
If you see a faucet that is dripping, turn it off
Install faucet aerators
Outdoors
Mulch gardens to retain water
Install rainwater tanks, and use the water collected
Avoid sprinkler runoff - make sure the water falls on grass or gardens
Replace plants that need a lot of water with native plants
Water school lawn when it is cool and evaporation is low (morning or evening)
Use a broom instead of a hose to clean sidewalks and driveways
