Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and donors can give any amount to the project that inspires them.

The organization has vetted and fulfilled over 2 million classroom project requests ranging from butterfly cocoons to robotics kits to books with diverse characters.

The organization was founded in 2000 by Charles Best, a Bronx public high school teacher, who considered all the money educators spend out of pocket each year.

By providing a platform for donors to contribute, teachers receive more funding and support for their classrooms through DonorsChoose.
