PSRC Board of Education Meeting Highlights ✨

🤝 Oath of Office 🤝

The Honorable James Gregory Bell, Senior Resident Superior Court Judge, 20th Judicial District Robeson County, administered the oath for re-elected board members and new board members.

Board members who took the oath of office were:

John Simmons, District 1 Representative

Craig Lowry, District 5 Representative

Crystal Monroe, District 6 Representative

Vonta Leach, At-Large Representative

Henry Brewer, At-Large Representative

And newly elected board members:

Bradley Phillips, District 7 Representative

Kristy Fields, At-Large Representative

District 4 Representative Terry Locklear, who was not present during the meeting, had previously taken the oath of office during a separate ceremony.

🎤 Election of Board Chairman and Board Vice Chairman for 2024-2025 🎤

Vonta Leach was elected by board members to serve as the Board Chairman for the 2024-2025 school year. Tre’ Britt was elected to serve as Board Vice Chairman for the 2024-2025 school year.

👏 ​​Recognitions 👏

Dr. Windy Dorsey Carr, PSRC Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum, Instruction and Accountability, shared the names of National Beta Convention Winners during the meeting. Those PSRC students will attend a board meeting at a later date for additional recognition.

Additionally, Jamie Burney, who serves as the South Robeson Middle School’s Beta Club sponsor and an NC Beta Council member and lifetime status sponsor, presented student Terrell McNeill with a plaque honoring his election as secretary for the National Junior Beta Club.

Terrell is the first NC state officer to be elected as National Junior Beta’s secretary.
