👏 RECOGNITIONS 👏
🤝 Brian Freeman, Principal of Peterson Elementary, was recognized with the North Carolina Association of Educators “Principal of the Year” Award!
📚 PSRC Battle of the Books Winners were also recognized!
👏 Lyla Hammonds (St. Pauls High School) was recognized as a Governor's School Recipient.
👏 Cailey L. Hunt (Purnell Swett High School) was recognized as a Gates Scholar.
👏 Harmony LeShay Brooks (Purnell Swett High School), Haley Lewter (Lumberton High School),
Kenleigh Freeman (Lumberton High School), Junior Torres Diaz (St. Pauls High School) and Kayla J. Oxendine (PSRC Early College) were recognized as NC Teaching Fellows.
👏 PSRC Relay-Leverage Leadership Coach Amanda Graham was recognized for her distinction as a Platinum Plus Leader in the Relay Graduate School of Education’s Leverage Leadership Institute Fellowship.
👏 Dr. Connie Locklear, Director of Indian Education at PSRC, was recognized for receiving the North Carolina Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education Center's Informal Educator Award in Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education.
👏 Mrs. Susan Miller-Hendrix, PSRC Science Supervisor, was recognized for receiving the North Carolina Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education Center's Outstanding Instructional Leader Award in Science, Mathematics, and Technology Education.
📌 NC Department of Public Instruction members Dr. Gertrude Lyons, Jamie Stroud, Yanisha Wilkins and Jessica Grant were also recognized. The NCDPI Team Members are conducting a Comprehensive Needs Assessment of the district and providing feedback to district leaders on areas of improvement and areas of promise in the district.
🕕 PSRC Superintendent Dr. Freddie Williamson also shared the PSRC Summer Work Schedule. Effective July 1, PSRC will operate from 7:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Monday-Thursday. PSRC will be closed on Fridays and on July 4. Employees are to observe a 30-minute lunch break.

- Appointing Dr. Jessica Floyd as 2024-2025 Principal at Tanglewood Elementary.
- Appointing Dr. Renee Steele as 2024-2025 Principal at W.H. Knuckles Elementary.
- Appointing Taurius Baker as Lumberton High School Head Football Coach.
- Student Transfers.
- A resolution of opposition of HB1068, a bill which seeks to change the nonpartisan board to a partisan board.
