This is a message from PSHS Parents, Please listen carefully as there are several bits of information to be announce. School will release early Wednesday September 22nd at 11:30 am. Please make all the necessary arrangement for your child to be picked up if they do not ride a bus. As principal of Purnell Swett High School, safety is the most important part of the school day; so, to add another layer of protection we will be conducting random classroom and bus searches to confiscate any contraband or weapons that students may have. These searches are legal and permitted as I have checked so there is no reason to call the school asking why? Progress Reports will go out Friday September 24th. It is important to remember parents that you ask your students about their grades. Finally, there is a lot of confusion about students learning virtually. Schools do not approve students for virtual school that is the responsibility of the central office. We are currently experiencing issues with students and parents wanting to attend school virtually and I will say it for the 1000th time, I do not have anything to do with that process. Students cannot learn virtually what they would face2face so parents you are doing your child a disservice when you allow them to stay at home. Almost all of the students sent home for COVID has been exposures and not positive cases as you like to think. If you follow protocol it is safe to be in school.

Good evening Ram Family, Just as a reminder that student safety is our number one concern here at PSHS. Today, Wednesday September 8th a 12th grade student’s vehicle was searched based on information from a prior off campus incident. During the search a firearm was retrieved. PSHS does not tolerate or condone this type of behavior and disciplinary actions will be enforced. Additionally, all policies and procedures mandated by the Public Schools of Robeson County will be followed. I want to remind all students if you see something, if you know something then please say something. Thank you and have a good evening.

This is a message from PSHS Parents and Students Please listen carefully as there are several bits of information we need to discuss. First, students will not be allowed on campus before 7:30. Teachers do not report to work until 7:40; therefore, supervision will not be available. Parents rest assure this is not our first rodeo with opening school. We got this!! All students will get a copy of their schedule Monday morning during homeroom. Posters will be displayed throughout the school Monday morning allowing students to find out who their homeroom teacher is and what room they need to report to. Tell your child to find an adult if they can’t figure out what to do. Students may request a schedule change Monday morning during homeroom. Also, note that just because a student submits a schedule change doesn’t mean it will be changed. Our enrollment is up and there is little room to make changes. Schedule changes is a process and not an event; basically saying it takes time so be patient as we work diligently toward another school year. No visitors are allowed to go beyond the front office so please don’t come expecting or demanding to meet with guidance counselor unless you are enrolling or withdrawing a student. If parents want to discuss a child’s schedule they must email or call the guidance department at 910-474-0223. Once again if you show up about a schedule change next week you will be asked to leave Finally, no one can be in the school building beyond the front office except Public Schools of Robeson County employees. We still have to follow protocol in an effort to stay safe so please do not come expecting to walk the halls or visit teachers. This procedure will be in effect the remainder of the school year. Thanks and Have a Great Day

Parents and Students Please listen carefully as there are several bits of information we need to discuss. First, we realize that many students didn’t get to see their schedule today during OPEN HOUSE; due to issues beyond our control; however, rest assure all students will get a copy of their schedule Monday morning during homeroom. Posters will be displayed throughout the school Monday morning allowing students to find out who their homeroom teacher is and what room they need to go to. Tell your child to find an adult if they can’t figure out what to do. The Guidance Department will close tomorrow Friday August 20, 2021 at 12:00 noon. This is an effort to get ready for students next week. They will only be processing enrollments and withdrawals up to that time. There will not be any schedule changes tomorrow at all so please do not call or come to the school asking for schedule changes. Students may request a schedule change Monday morning during homeroom. Also, note that just because a student submits a schedule change doesn’t mean it will be changed. Our enrollment is up and there is little room to make changes. During this timeframe you may log into PowerSchool to see your schedule. If for any reason you don’t remember your password just know a schedule will be provided Monday morning during homeroom; however, I am working with our district PowerSchool manager to find a generic way that you can change your password in PowerSchool to see your schedule tomorrow. So, please for another email tomorrow if you don’t remember your password. Also, you got to know your student ID number. Finally, a virtual tour of the school is available on the school webpage if you need a glimpse of what PSHS looks like. I look forward to seeing you Monday morning...
