Good evening, Union Chapel Family! All buses will run on a regular schedule tomorrow, November 7th. I appreciate your cooperation as we deal with a bus driver shortage this week.

Bus 76 will be a second load in the morning and afternoon tomorrow, November 6th. There will be several changes to a couple of our buses this week, so if your child is a bus rider, be on the lookout for this.

Our Beta Club Food Drive starts tomorrow and will run through November 17th. All students are asked to bring in a minimum of two non-perishable food items that will be distributed to a local food bank. Every student who turns in at least two non-perishable food items will receive two PBIS points. Please donate if you are able. Thank you.
Also, tomorrow is American Indian t-shirt day. Please wear a Native American t-shirt if you have one.

There will be NO TUTORING this upcoming week. If your child normally stays for tutoring on Mondays and Tuesdays, please make alternate arrangements for them. Thank you.

Today our students in Pre-K through fourth grade were treated to a live production of "The Energy Time Trek" by actors from the National Theatre for Children. Piedmont Natural Gas sponsored this play which emphasized what natural gas is, how we can conserve natural gas, how to be safe around natural gas, and how to make a family communication plan in the event of a natural gas leak. Ask your child about today's assembly to see how much they can recall.

The following students from our school participated in the All-County Elementary Honor Chorus at UNC Pembroke: second grader Ava Revels, third graders Keeyon Grant, Austin Enriquez, and Karli Oxendine, and fourth grader Lizzie Lowery. These students performed along with students from other PSRC elementary schools. Students, we are very proud of you and hope you enjoyed this experience. We appreciate our music teacher, Mrs. Angela Oxendine for helping the students be successful at this event.

In honor of Veterans Day, there will be NO SCHOOL on Friday, November 10th. Let us thank our veterans for giving of themselves to ensure our freedom.

Report cards will go home tomorrow, November 2nd. Please attend Parent / Teacher conferences tomorrow from 3:30 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. to discuss your child's progress with their teacher. We hope to see you then!

Today was the last day of Red Ribbon Week. We wore our Halloween costumes to say "Boo!" to drugs. We showed everyone that Union Chapel Tigers are not afraid to say no to drugs and yes to a drug-free life. Thank you to everyone who helped support our Red Ribbon Week celebrations. Although the dressing up was fun, we want to stress the importance of Union Chapel students being drug-free...for now and for life.

There will be hearing and vision screenings tomorrow for first, third, and fifth grade students. Parents, if your child wears glasses, please make sure they take them to school tomorrow. If the nurse finds a concern with your child's hearing or vision, a letter will be sent home.

This is a reminder that there will be NO AFTERSCHOOL TUTORING today. If your child normally stays for tutoring on Tuesdays, please make arrangements for them. Thank you.

Remember that all costumes must be school-appropriate and masks and face paint are not allowed.

Today we celebrated Red Ribbon Week by showing our school pride and living a drug-free life. By wearing our school colors, orange and black, we show everyone that Union Chapel Tigers know how to "Be Kind to Our Minds and Live Drug-Free!"

There will be NO AFTERSCHOOL TUTORING tomorrow, October 31st. If your child normally stays for tutoring on Tuesdays, please make arrangements for them. Thank you.
