Happy Thanksgiving from the Union Chapel Family!

Former Tiger, Chandler Brayboy, spoke with our 4th - 6th grade students as part of Native American Heritage Month. Chandler, who plays wide receiver on the football team at Elon University, emphasized the values of respect, belief, and purpose during his interaction with the children. He shared insights about his student life, encouraging them to be good students, listen to their teachers, and study hard. Chandler's experience at Elon University has involved challenges like studying hard, making new friends, and adjusting to being away from home. He also placed emphasis on having good mentors throughout his life who offered guidance and advice in his journey. The students' interest, shown by asking questions and seeking autographs, reflects the impact Chandler's words had on them.
We appreciate our former students who stay connected to our school and community. Thank you, Chandler! Union Chapel Elementary School is proud of you.

As we prepare for another wonderful week at school, please remember that this is a short school week for us. There will be NO SCHOOL on Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday due to Thanksgiving. Take this time to show thanks for your many blessings. There is always something for which to be thankful!

This message is for the parents of students who ride bus 76. The bus has broken down and will be delayed dropping off all students. Please bear with us as we get this situation taken care of.

THANK YOU to all of the families that supported our annual Beta Club Food Drive. With your help, we will be able to make a sizeable donation to a local food pantry to help families in our community who may be facing hunger and food insecurity this holiday season. Once again, THANK YOU!

The Beta Club Food Drive ends tomorrow. If you have already sent in non-perishable food items...THANK YOU! If you have not, please send in items that will be donated to families in need this holiday season. This is a good opportunity to talk with your child about those in our community who may be facing hunger and food insecurity.

Starting tomorrow, chips and ice cream will be sold every day in the cafeteria. Chips are $0.75 and ice cream is $1.00. Please send money if you would like for your child to enjoy these treats. As always, you can send money to put on your child's account. Thank you.

"Ba-da-ba-ba-ba...I'm loving it!" Actually, we're loving you, Tigers, for all your support last night at our McDonald's Night fundraiser. We appreciate everyone that joined us for supper and the fellowship we were able to have outside of school. We truly are a family!
