JANUARY MONTHLY BULLETIN

1. Monday, January 17, 2022- No School for Students or Staff. Students will return on Tuesday,
January 18, 2022.


2. Tuesday, January 11, 2022- English Language Arts -Classwork Universal Screener – School-wide– proficient levels vary based on grade levels.


3. Wednesday, January 12, 2022- Math- Classwork Universal Screener- School-wide-proficient levels vary based on grade levels.

4. FREE COVID TESTING: Mako Medical Laboratory will be offering Free Covid testing to all
eligible employees and students at Townsend, beginning Monday, January 10th @ 11:45 am.
Those interested in signing up for testing will need to register before Monday to be on the

5. Air Pod and Ear Bud Policy: Students are not permitted to wear air pods or ear buds during
the instructional day. If lessons require listening devices, students will be provided a school
issued device. In the event a student is wearing air pods, or earbuds during the above
mentioned time (instructional day), the teacher will confiscate the item and place the item in a
secure envelope with the student’s name. The item will be taken by an adult to the front office
and a parent/guardian will have to report to school to claim the item. The item will not be
returned to the student. In the event further violations continue, proper disciplinary measures
may result in/out of school suspension. Upon reading this bulletin, please have a serious
conversation with your child/children about ear buds and air pods. While these items have a
place in our society, we can agree they do not have a place in the classroom.


6. Face Mask: Cloth face mask are required for North Carolina students and staff. Face
coverings must be worn by students and staff inside buildings. NECK GAITERS ARE NOT
APPROVED FACE COVERINGS
