PSRC Mental Health Minute

As we recognize April as Stress Awareness Month, it's a meaningful time to pause and reflect on how stress impacts our lives — both professionally and personally.

Stress is a natural part of life, but when it builds up without relief, it can take a toll on our health, focus, and overall well-being. We want to remind everyone that it's okay to acknowledge stress and, more importantly, to take steps to manage it.

Here are a few simple strategies that can help:

1. Take Short Breaks: Step away from your screen, stretch, or take a brief walk. Even five minutes can help reset your mind.

2. Prioritize Sleep: Aim for 7–9 hours of restful sleep to support your mood and focus.

3. Practice Deep Breathing or Meditation: Just a few minutes of mindful breathing can calm your nervous system.

4. Stay Connected: Talk with colleagues, friends, or loved ones. Sharing your thoughts can be a great stress reliever.

5. Set Realistic Goals: Break tasks into smaller steps and don’t hesitate to ask for support if needed.

6. Move Your Body: Physical activity, even in small amounts, helps reduce tension and boosts your energy.

Taking care of your mental health is just as important as your physical health. Let’s continue to support one another and prioritize well-being. Provided by: PSRC District Mental Health Team
