Medicine Wheel Indian Education

The Title VI Indian Education Program will sponsor a Summer Enrichment Camp for American Indian students in grades 3-8 currently attending the Public Schools of Robeson County / CIS Academy (Pembroke) and Southside Ashpole.  The Summer Enrichment Camp will be at two (2) school sites, Lumberton Jr. High and Pembroke Middle on June 13 – 23, 2022 (tentative schedule).

The Indian Education Summer Enrichment Camp will provide 8 days of reading, science, and math enrichment with a cultural component including art and crafts, native games, American Indian history, and drum and dance.  Students may visit local historical sites and points of interest such as, educational institutions, museums, state parks, and art galleries. 

Applications are available at your child’s school with the assigned Youth Development Specialist.  Please return the attached application to your child’s Youth Development Specialist or teacher before May 12, 2022. Parents must be committed to ensuring that, if selected, their child will attend for the full (8) days.  Availability is limited.  Please apply early.  Selected students will be notified as to which campsite they will attend.  Please click on the link below for more information and application
