Good Evening Parents, In the upcoming weeks school personnel will be observing the student parking lot for parking passes. All students that drive to campus MUST purchase a parking pass. Students will not be allowed to drive on campus without a parking pass. Parking passes are on sale now, and students need to bring their drivers license and registration to purchase one.

Parents and Students, In order to provide a safe and orderly environment at athletic events, Purnell Swett High School will be implementing a few changes. Effective immediately, anyone attending a sporting event must adhere to the clear bag policy. Only a clear 10x10 bag is allowed. This means that backpacks, diaper bags, and purses are not allowed at any sporting events. No Exceptions!!! Also, any child that is not a student at Purnell Swett High School is required to be accompanied by a parent or guardian. Students will not be allowed to act as a parent or guardian. Individuals failing to meet this requirement will be denied entrance into the game. Additionally, the cost of games has increased to $8.00.

Good Afternoon Parents and Students, School safety is of the utmost importance here at Purnell Swett High School. A photo of a student holding a gun while on a school bus Friday was posted on social media. After an investigation it was determined the student did possess a weapon. Purnell Swett High School does not tolerate or condone this type of behavior. This incident did not cause a disruption to the school day and all students were safe. All policies and procedures mandated by the Public Schools of Robeson County will be followed. I want to remind students if they see something or know something then by all means they should say something. Parents please know that students have a role in helping provide a safe and orderly school environment.

Bus 393 has a new driver and the route will begin on Tuesday, September 3, 2024. We ask for your patience with this route, and please have students ready for the bus. This bus will leave campus around 6:20am. Thank you and Happy Labor Day.

Parents and Students, I want to take this opportunity to say our first day was an awesome day. I thank everyone for a job well done. In saying that, there are a couple things that I need help with. Today students were given a hot pink chrome book sheet for parents to fill out and sign. Students will not receive a chrome book without a parent signature. Also, we are working hard to solve our bus issues. I’m asking you to be patient and understanding. If you know anyone that would like to drive a bus, please let us know. Thanks and Have a Great Day

Parents and student We look forward to seeing everyone in the morning, bright eyed and ready to learn. All ninth graders will report to the cafeteria immediately upon arriving on campus. Also, ninth-grade homeroom teachers will meet in the cafeteria. Tenth, Eleventh and Twelfth grades will go straight to homeroom. Homeroom are the same as last year. Parents, We look forward to seeing you tomorrow Thursday August 22nd from 1:00----6:00 pm during open house. During this time, we will be selling parking permits for $25.00. Along with $25, students will need their registration card and driver’s license. Additionally, any senior that has early release on their schedule may go to the media center to take a picture for their early release ID card. Last but mostly importantly there will not be any schedule changes taking place during open house. For the first days of homeroom, Student may request a schedule change.

Correction: Teachers, I know you have been anxiously awaiting to get started in preparing your classrooms and it is with great regret that I inform you that unless something changes you can not be in the school building until Monday August 19th. Once again please do not come to the school expecting to work in your classrooms. You will have to wait until next week to complete your room.

The only schedules being changed are those with errors or those requiring a change for graduation purposes. So please do not waste time trying to get schedules changed to match a friend. Also, seniors wanting to graduate early or wanting early release must bring a parent to sign and complete all required documents. Everyone must park in the rear of school and enter the back door by the mobile units. Thanks and Have a Great Day.

Parents and Student Athletes, Please visit our Purnell Swett High School Facebook page to view the tryout schedule for all fall sports that begin tomorrow Wednesday July 31st. There you will be able to see tryout times and locations along with the respective head coaches. Also, to participate in tryouts all athletes must have completed the required planeths forms. PSRC Summer Work Hours will begin on July 1, 2024, and normal hours will resume on August 5, 2024. Summer Work Schedule Hours of Operation ☀️ 🕐 Mondays - Thursdays: 7:30 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 🕘 Friday - Closed All offices will be closed during Independence Day on Thursday, July 4, 2024.

This is a reminder that Graduation practice is tomorrow Thursday, June 13th at 9:00 am. Students need to park behind the school and enter the 400 and 500 hallways. Students will receive tickets during graduation practice as long as senior fees are paid and their chromebook/charger turned in.

The ceremony will begin promptly at 9:00 am. All seniors should be on campus for lineup at 7:00am and guests may enter the main commons at 7:30am. To ensure graduation begins on time, doors will close permanently at 8:45 am. Once again, if you are not here by 8:45am you will not be allowed to enter the building. If you are entering the school from the Pembroke area, you will park in the student parking lot. If you are entering the school from the Prospect/Maxton area, you will park in the bus parking lot. Handicap parking will be available in the staff parking lot. JROTC cadets will be directing traffic. Seniors are not allowed to wear hunting boots, crocs, tennis shoes, or jeans.
