NC Teaching Fellows Scholarship - Receive up to $5,000 per semester (Deadline: November 1, 2024)


To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:


  1. High school applicants or applicants with fewer than 24 hours of college credit must have a minimum unweighted high school GPA of 3.0. While not required, we strongly encourage applicants to submit an SAT and/or ACT score.

  2. Applicants with more than 24 hours of college credit must have a minimum of a 2.7 cumulative GPA.

  3. Be willing to teach in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics), special education, or elementary education (K-6) licensure area in a North Carolina public school, traditional or charter.

To be eligible for the scholarship a student must:


  1. All applicants must be enrolled in an accredited educational institution (high school) in the continental United States or Puerto Rico.

  2. All applicants must be citizens or permanent residents of the United States or Puerto Rico.

  3. If an applicant is under 18 and is selected as a potential HFE scholarship recipient, the student’s parent or legal guardian must sign an Affidavit of Eligibility and Assignment of Rights to be confirmed as a winner.

  4. Scholarship funds awarded to winners must be used for education, such as tuition and related fees, books, supplies, and equipment required for courses at an accredited post-secondary educational institution.
